Electrical Engineer with Power Systems Analysis Background
Responsibilities and Duties:

Required Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:
- Utilize detailed electrical engineering analysis to include Short Circuit, Equipment Evaluation, Coordination, Arc Flash, Load Flow, Harmonic, and Power Quality Analysis. Please review our engineering services page for a comprehensive listing of power system analysis services that we offer.
- Software proficiencies should include SKM Powertools, ASPEN Oneliner, PSCAD or similar software.
- Execute complex problem solving at customer facilities to include a convolution of power monitoring, power analysis, troubleshooting, and best installation practices.
- Provide engineering services including electrical system design, electrical component integration, problem evaluation and resolution, and technical direction.
- Knowledge of maintenance testing and results interpretation.
- Engineering project management, including economic evaluation, schedule and time milestones.
- Electrical equipment inspection and engineering assessment.
- Prepare scopes of work, contracts and specifications.
- Evaluate, monitor, direct and manage outside contractors and vendors.
- Interpret and apply engineering principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Ability to adjust to multiple and changing projects and priorities.
- Produce quality, accurate, prompt and reliable results.
- Keep others informed of changes, communicates topics in a timely manner.
- Seek input from others in problem solving and decision making.
- Foster and inspire teamwork, maintains corporative working relationships, eliminates barriers to teamwork.
Physical Requirements:
Candidate will be subjected to industrial and power plant atmospheres, exposed to high voltages and electrical currents present in low-medium-high-extra high voltage substations, and intense noises. Candidate may be required to wear hearing protection, safety harness, and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
Relevant Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology will be considered with the proper background. Candidate should have three or more years of professional level engineering experience. Power engineering experience required. Registration as a Professional Engineer is desired but not required. Candidate must have and maintain a valid
Kentucky or
Ohio driver’s License upon hire. A physical examination will be required.
